Jarek told:

The city down there represents foundations, when a person is still young and full of hope. It's that girl with glasses looking into the future that's to come. The future is supposed to be bright. But of course the future comes as it comes, meaning it's not bright... there's this black background that appears later. These are all the disappointments and coming back to earth caused simply by life. Toil and life, and the loss of all fantasies about the future and mirages that appear. The future comes, which is rather gray-black. (...) Old age appears here. This skull represents it (...). I don't consider death something terrible, but rather a deliverance. Because life on earth is so hard and difficult that when you die, you finally have peace from it all. (...) A person dies. LGBT and non-LGBT. We die in the end and have peace... and we are just like before birth - we simply don't exist. And that's an ok state, because we don't suffer and don't feel anything. (...) It's precisely this skull with the wise eyes of a woman and at the very top is a vulva, which is the sun, or actually the moon, which illuminates it. Since I am a woman... I identify more as a woman than a man... I wanted to place a female element there."

About the project in Poland

Art educator Monika Mizielińska facilitated creative workshops where participants explored queer aging through artistic expression. Using materials provided on-site, they created diverse artworks reflecting their visions, hopes, and concerns about the future.
