Alex told:
I have too many things piled up over the years. Just yesterday I went to a flee market and sold some stuff – I got 106€. If I die one day, I don’t want anyone to be confronted with cleaning up after me. The fewer, the better. Of course, it’s nice to own a large library, but in reality, you don’t use most of them. It just collects dust. So it’s better to live without it.
I’d bring along a conceptual phone. This worn-out phone case has saved it from stealing several times. Once I was at a film shoot. And a thief came and stole all the e-cigars and stuff from the set, but left my phone – it looked so gross. It’s a funny story. But the phone works fine, it makes good photos and is very functional. Only the battery is not so good anymore. It’s lasted several years, though. But yes, a phone is a means of communication and work. When you post something and it gets shared, then your ideas can reach others. I wouldn’t have a life without my phone anymore. I’d be left out from the stream of information.
About the project in Estonia
Artist Alana Proosa photographed objects brought by the participants. These objects symbolised something to leave behind and something to bring to the future. These objects are accompanied by accounts told by the interviewees.
